Part of NetJapan’s DisasterReady availability solutions, ImageBoot is a free standalone software add-on that can boot any ActiveImage Protector backup image as a virtual machine in minutes, providing an alternative availability solution to bridge the gap between disaster and recovery.

ImageBoot bypasses lengthy, resource intensive, and cumbersome physical to virtual conversion process by instantly creating an interim replacement server or workstation in VMWare Workstation, VMware Player, VMware Player Pro or Microsoft Hyper-V.
 

Boot a replacement virtual server in minutes
 Using ImageBoot is as simple as creating a virtual machine, attaching the disk and booting it up. You will have an exact replica of the crashed machine, allowing your company or clients to continue business operations while you take the necessary time to repair or replace the original hardware or environment. All changes made while the ImageBoot virtual machine is in operation are saved to differential backup files. This provides a current recovery back to the repaired original hardware or virtual environment.
 
 
Test upgrades before deployment
 In addition to its disaster recovery capabilities, ImageBoot can also be used for testing system and application upgrades prior to deployment without risk to the live environment.

• Test your Recovery Time Objectives and Recovery Point Objectives.
• Perform mock disaster drills to verify recoverability.
• Identifying and isolating the point of failure by performing Postmortem Boot Analysis (PBA) of the backup image and incremental files.
• Temporarily run a replacement server while performing hardware migration or upgrades.
• Virtual migration testing
• Test system or application upgrades prior to deployment to a live environment.
• Verify the integrity of a backup image files.
